Recording, Electronic Music, Jazz Studies, Instrumental and Vocal Performance



The UNCA Recording Studio includes the newly developed Solid State Logic SSL AWS 900+ recording and mixing console, a Pro Tools HD recording system with 96 I/O interface, and a 16 track 1" multi-track analog tape machine. All of this equipment is interconnected through a balanced TT patch bay. This facility also houses a variety of microphones, preamps, limiters/compressors, reverbs, noise gates, dbx & Dolby noise reduction units, and various other signal processors.

The Robert A. Moog Center for Electronic Music houses both analog and state-of-the-art digital synthesis and composition software and hardware.

The UNCA Department of Music provides many performance opportunities for all UNCA students, including music majors, minors and non-majors. Performance ensembles include Symphony, Flute Choir, String Quartet, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Jazz Combos, Chorus, Jazz Choir, Percussion Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble.
