The mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning is to help faculty have extraordinary careers embedded in exceptional lives.
What would that look like for you?

Bruce works with faculty at all career stages and can help you reflect upon your career and life goals and the means for their attainment, especially as they relate to the teaching, scholarly, service and administrative dimensions of the academy. In addition he can facilitate meetings, provide formative teaching evaluation, conduct and coordinate learning circles and assist in other ways. If you have an idea that can help our faculty have extraordinary careers and exceptional lives, Bruce would love to discuss it with you!
Current areas of concentration for Bruce are Learning Circles and Lunch with Bruce.
Summer 2008 Learning Circles (June and July) Fall 2008 Learning Circles (Preliminary)
John helps faculty with a wide array of instructional technologies, including WebCT, PowerPoint, FrontPage, and Dreamweaver, and can assist you with scanning graphics and creating digital audio and video files. In addition John can provide some support for Excel and Photoshop. If you have a present or prospective need for help with instructional technology, John would be glad to lend a hand!
You can learn more about the many areas in which John can assist you, as well as other resources, at Teaching and Learning with Technology.
The CTL can provide some financial support for collaborative activities involving faculty and staff. These could be learning circles, book or paper discussion groups, class- or course- or program-based projects, campus speakers or whatever your imagination creates. If you have thoughts or suggestions, please run them by Bruce or John. We want to make things work for you! UNC Asheville Resources
